It’s funny how easily we get attached to someone we’ve known for a short time. It’s even funnier to feel hurt when that someone starts to value you, less than he/she used to. And you can’t even complain about it since you’re just attached and not committed. Then when you see that someone being happier with someone else, you really feel jealous even when you know that he/she isn’t yours to begin with.

It doesn’t even have to be a boyfriend/girlfriend type of relationship. The moments you have in your life feel more special when you share it with someone. You can be in Paris, but if you’re on your own it still wouldn’t feel as special. They say that it’s not about the location, but the people you’re with and it’s true. You can laugh together, share stories together and it feels great. But what’s really great about it is the future aspect of it. In the future, you’re both going to say, “Do you remember that time we went to ____”. And then the memories come back and you spend hours reminiscing. That’s what’s so special about being with someone.

Within our relationship, we need to understand that it’s not all about fun and games. Sometimes we will go through tough times. The room is dark and yet you’re barely paying attention to the movie you two are watching and only noticing how close you two are sitting next to each other. He just put his arm around you and the feeling of butterflies in your stomach starts up again. You feel both nervous and excited. You turn your head to face him but turn back to the movie you two are watching. A moment of hesitation. You begin to wonder if you should just go for it. You turn your head again. He does, too. Your foreheads touch. Then your lips. And all that’s going through your head is “Oh my God this is really happening oh my God oh my God.” That moment when he pulls you closer to him as your kiss gets deeper. The way you notice how his strong arms feel wrapped around you. You feel wanted. You feel safe. And in this moment, you want nothing more than this.

Itulah jalan Allah,

Kita harus selalu yakin,

Allah tidak memberi apa yang kita inginkan.

Namun,

Apa yang kita butuhkan.

Terkadang,

Kita merasa sedih, kecewa, terluka.

Tapi,

Jauh diatas segalanya Allah sedang merajut yang terbaik,
